Kymberly Harris

EDUCATION + PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT

For fifteen years, I’ve worked with emerging and professional artists to investigate character, performance and story.

At Loyola Marymount University, I mentor filmmakers and actors and help guide thesis films from screenplay development through final screen presentation. Previously, I taught for nearly a decade at the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute, working with a diverse international community of actors and artists. I enjoy conducting writing and acting workshops for underserved groups as well as corporations.

Earlier in my career, I founded TheatresCool, a community based arts organization built around a belief that meaningful creative experiences should be accessible to all people.

Across classrooms, rehearsal rooms, film sets and community programs, the purpose is the same - to help creatives express their voices and our storytelling to inspire empathy, authenticity, and human connection.

ART AS SERVICE

THEATRESCOOL

Founder & Artistic Director

I founded Theatrescool from the belief that access to creative expression can change the way a young person sees themselves and their place in the world.

Through arts education, performance, mentorship and community engagement, we created opportunities for young people to develop confidence, imagination, healing, self-esteem, and a sense of belonging.

The organization received grant support including funding from the Illinois Arts Council, McLean County Arts Center and Bravo Television.
